First look at the new Crafter

Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles (VWCV) has released the first official information and pictures of the all-new Crafter, due to launch locally in the first half of 2018.

Based on the modern Volkswagen DNA design, the company says that the Crafter’s style promises functionality, attractiveness and high production quality. And it is serious about this promise…

VWCV asked users and customers about their needs and ideas more intensively than ever before and invited them to help shape the new Crafter. Specialists from Hannover frequently accompanied drivers going about their everyday routine and asked them right there at their place of work what they wanted.

“In the commercial-vehicle sector especially, design has got to work for lots of different customer groups,” says Albert-Johann Kirzinger, head of design at VWCV.

The new Crafter has a best-in-class drag coefficient of 0,33. This aerodynamic form is carried across all derivatives and is said to offer an ideal relationship between usable space and the vehicle’s dimensions.

The new Crafter will launch in Europe this spring.
