Geoff du Plessis announces retirement

Geoff du Plessis, current MD and chairman of MAN Truck & Bus South Africa, will be leaving the organisation with effect from December 31.

Du Plessis, who has been with MAN since April 2005 and has been a part of the commercial vehicle industry for more than 31 years, intends to purse private interests.

“Having held various positions in the local and international organisation at MAN, Du Plessis has built up a formidable management team over the last two years at MAN South Africa,” says Markus Geyer, regional head MAN Middle East, Africa and India.

“He has ensured that the current team has the competency and experience to drive the organisation into the future, and that the baton is effectively passed onto his successor.

“The company thanks Geoff for his tremendous leadership, and wishes him and his family all the best in the adventures ahead,” adds Geyer.

Du Plessis’s successor will be announced in due course.
