Michelin is set to launch its second one-stop truck service centre

Construction phase of the new MTSC in Polokwane.

Michelin Tyre Company South Africa is once again demonstrating the innovative thinking that makes Michelin a world leader in tyre technology with the launch of the second Michelin Truck Service Centre (MTSC) in November. This unique service offering will provide truck and bus operators with the first one-stop shop for tyres, maintenance and service in Limpopo.

Following on the success of the first MTSC branch, launched in Villiers in the Free State during June, the new centre opens in Polokwane on November 22 and will offer truck and bus owners a host of professional services and quality products.

Jaco Venter, partnership programme manager at Michelin Tyre Company South Africa, explains the benefits of the rapidly expanding MTSC network, “Truck and bus operators are under a great deal of pressure to supply on time, which means that vehicle downtime is simply not an option. With the expansion of our MTSC network, operators can be assured of obtaining the highest quality service, top products and the best advice all under one roof, wherever they may be.”

MTSC Polokwane will also be a supplier of Michelin’s highly-rated Kormoran tyre – best known for its ISO ratings, which comply with the toughest European standards and directives. The two Kormoran ranges fall into the intermediate tyre sector as a quality product offering at an attractive price. The range will include the Roads tyre, suitable for long and short journeys on asphalt roads and the On/Off tyre, which performs on roads as well as in and around worksites.

“The N1 through Polokwane to the border is known for its high traffic volumes. The new MTSC is well-positioned to offer transporters peace of mind knowing they can obtain professional service, using state-of-the-art equipment and world-class products, along the route,” says Venter.

MTSC networks are currently operational in India, Thailand and Saudi Arabia. Michelin Tyre Company South Africa plans to extend the MTSC network across the country, to be able to offer the best service nationally.
