British tyre expo comes to a close

British tyre expo ends

Brityrex International kicked off on Tuesday (October 9) at EventCity in Manchester in the UK, finishing yesterday (October 11). Kingpin Tyres, Tyresure, Tyre Bay Direct and Euro-Tyre are the latest to join the line-up, giving the show a lot of drawing power.

Kingpin Tyres, the Shropshire-based retreader, exhibited its new range of run-flat tyres this year, with six sizes marketed under the Kingpin brand. The company will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2013 and is feeling the benefits of recent capital investment in tyre building equipment. The decision to expand its manufacturing capacity and product range has given Kingpin a lot to boast about, and Brityrex provided the perfect opportunity to do just that.

Tyresure has been taking advantage of the impending Tyre Pressure Monitoring Systems (TPMS) legislation and launched its Tech TPMS website – a complete e-commerce solution for TPMS compatibility and fitment information. According to Tyresure MD Ian Smith, the Tech TPMS website is continually updated to ensure that anyone can easily find replacement TPMS parts or equipment. “It is arguably the most innovative and accurate TPMS compatibility checker available anywhere online.”

Tyre Bay Direct showcased its Unite machine packages, along with displays of consumable and garage equipment. It also launched the Nitrofill Auto Club, and demonstrated its Uniflate nitrogen systems, which are installed in thousands of tyre centres in the UK.

A fourth, new exhibitor was Dutch tyre import-exporter Euro-Tyre. Drawing on an inventory of 450 000 units, Euro-Tyre was at the show looking for distributors for its ranges of Infinity, Nankang, Maxxis, Westlake and premium brand lines.

The Michelin Training Centre exhibited for the first time, while distributors of Tech and Trueflex Pang were focused on functionality this year – visitors were able to find information for original equipment (OE) parts from companies such as Schrader, VDO, Huf Beru and ATEQ, including the latest Tech replacement sensors and Tech OE service kits.

For exhibitors who are heavily internet and mail order-based, Brityrex provides a welcome opportunity to meet new and existing clients, build stronger relationships and expand customer bases.
