Cargo Carriers and Os du Randt deliver “gift of life”

Transportation, logistics and supply chain service provider Cargo Carriers, with the help of Water Shortage South Africa, delivered more than just a truck full of bottled water to the drought-stricken community of Zastron on February 10.

Free State’s Zastron is a centre of farming and agriculture and, like many other areas, has suffered a national crisis following the recent droughts. Cargo Carriers and Water Shortage South Africa delivered a truckload of bottled water to the much-excited learners of Zastron High School.

The learner’s excitement grew even more as they received water-conservation tips from their local star, former Free State Cheetah rugby player Os du Randt (who now plays for the Springboks).

Du Randt stressed the importance of “water, the gift of life”, conservation and how everyone can play a part in conserving this essential resource.

Andre Jansen van Vuuren, marketing director of Cargo Carriers, says: “We are proud to be associated with our partners Zastron School, Os du Randt and #WSSA 2016 in this essential project that is changing lives and making a positive difference. With such an exceptional team aboard, we could ensure ‘the gift of life’ was delivered timeously and safely.”
