Continental’s got you covered

Owners of light commercial vehicles, 4x4s and passenger cars can now benefit from Continental’s free ContiSure Warranty on all Continental-branded tyres for these vehicles.

The warranty is available on Continental tyres purchased from BestDrive, Tiger Wheel & Tyre, as well as Tyres & More outlets across South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho, Namibia and Swaziland.

It covers the tyres against accidental and irreparable damage as a result of a cut, bruise, impact break or puncture occurring on a public road.

“All risk associated with the ContiSure Warranty lies with Continental, which means that once the tyre is purchased and the warranty is activated, the customer enjoys ultimate peace of mind, knowing that accidental tyre damage is covered for a period two years” says Niel Langner, marketing manager for Continental Tyre SA.

The customer is required to activate the ContiSure Warranty via the innovative ContiSure app (available for download via the App Store for Apple devices, or the Google Play Store for Android phones) or website.

If a tyre is damaged within the first 30 days, or 2 000 km after purchase, customers can proceed to any participating dealer with the damaged tyre, the vehicle to which it was fitted, the original invoice and ContiSure Warranty brochure, as well as their identity document.

Dealer claims officials have been trained to assess the damage. If the tyre cannot be repaired, the customer receives a full credit towards the purchase of the same, or similar, new Continental tyre.

For incidents occurring after 30 days or 2 000 km, the value warranted is calculated by the dealer by measuring the remaining tread on the damaged tyre, minus the one millimetre minimum legal tread limit, to determine the unused tread value, expressed as a percentage of the original tread depth. This percentage is used to calculate the credit value based on the original purchase price.

The customer is then entitled to use the credit towards the purchase of a new replacement Continental-branded tyre.

A dealer locator is also included in the ContiSure app along with a raft of additional information such as: a fitment guide, recommended tyre pressures for the customer’s specific vehicle, tyre basics, an inch-up guide, video tutorials for the activation process and a variety of other useful information.
