European-design truck tyres for SA

Sava, a brand in the Goodyear product portfolio, is launching the new Sava Avant 4Plus steer tyre and Orjak 4Plus drive tyre to the southern African market. A prominent tyre brand in central and south-east Europe, these on-road quality truck tyres feature the latest-generation European tread designs.

Cost-conscious fleet operators will benefit from improved mileage of up to ten percent compared to the 4Plus predecessor, as well as a wider range of sizes.

Seven sizes are available in the Sava Avant 4Plus steer tyre range: 315/80 R22.5, 295/80 R22.5, 315/70 R22.5 385/55 R22.5 (new size), 315/60 R22.5, 295/60 R22.5 and 385/65 R22.5.

The tread profile of the Avant 4Plus gives an optimal footprint to ensure even wear and high mileage. A further feature of the new tyres is that the widest sizes now have six ribs, giving more flexibility and improved wear characteristics than the previous five-rib design.

The new Orjak 4Plus drive tyre range comprises five sizes – 315/80 R22.5, 295/80 R22.5, 315/60 R22.5, 315/70 R22.5 and 295/60 R22.5 – and has a tread pattern with increased tread depth that improves mileage. Enhancements to the shoulder area of the tyres improve handling and stability.

The new Sava truck tyres will be available progressively from June. The Sava tyres supplied to the southern African market are produced at the Izmit Plant in Turkey, the Wittlich Plant in Germany and the Debica Plant in Poland. All these facilities have state-of-the-art equipment and the latest manufacturing technology.
