Ford is on fire

Even though the new Ford Ranger is set to arrive later this year, the current model remains a favourite in the South African market.  In fact, it was the top-selling vehicle during April, with 3 095 sales.

This is the second time it has taken the top sales spot for the LCV and total industry. Sales of the Ranger have increased by 71,6 percent year-on-year and 54 percent year-to-date. In addition, the company achieved its best-ever market share and highest-ever sales for the month of April.

“Ford has broken sales records every month this year. Achieving our highest-ever market share in April is testament to the customer response to our vehicle line-up in South Africa,” says Mark Kaufman, vice president, marketing, sales and service, Ford Motor Company of Southern Africa.

“Pricing and overall value for money are key considerations for most customers, as are safety and technology. Our current range excels in all of these areas, and this is reflected in the growing customer demand for our rapidly expanding passenger car and commercial vehicle line-up,” he concludes.
