High strength with minimal prep

Speciality chemicals company Sika has introduced a high-strength panel adhesive aimed at metal and composite bonding.

Called SikaPower-4720, this versatile two-component adhesive conforms to original equipment manufacturer standards and boasts excellent adhesion to a variety of substrates, without the need for a primer.

It is suitable for panel bonding with exposure to high dynamic stress areas such as: door skins, rear body panels, roof skins or quarter panels. The product is fast curing. Minimal surface preparation is required and it allows for a long open time.
 
The company says that SikaPower-4720 is solvent free and provides excellent corrosion protection.
