Hyundai launches new HCV contender

Hyundai Automotive South Africa today launched its new heavy commercial vehicle (HCV) contender; the Mighty EX8.

With a gross vehicle mass (of 7 800 kg) that is 300 kg greater than its nearest competitor; as well as larger, more comfortable cabs (20 percent larger than the outgoing model) and a class-leading warranty, the company aims to bring maximum value and low total cost of ownership to its targeted buyers – small, medium and micro enterprises.

Hyundai launches new HCV contenderThe five-vehicle range is powered by a common-rail Euro-3 engine. With a displacement of 3 907 cc, it produces 103 kW power and 373 Nm torque. Turbo protectors are optional and can be fitted on the assembly line at the Hyundai plant in Benoni.

The biggest news is the class-leading factory warranty, which offers four years of unlimited mileage. This is complemented by a 20 000 km service interval and three-year/200 000 km roadside assistance.

The range is priced from R379 500.
