Mitsubishi Fuso and Nissan join forces

Does this sound like an unlikely scenario? Well, it’s a fact. Proud parents Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation (MFTBC) and Nissan Motor Company Limited (NMCL) are having a baby – and their little sprog will be a light-duty truck. The baby will have two names though: MFTBC will call it the Fuso Canter Guts while NMCL has named it the NT450 Atlas.

According to Dr Albert Kirchmann, president and CEO of MFTBC, the collaboration will significantly improve customer satisfaction. “The Fuso Canter Guts, which will be offered from 2013, will round off the bottom of our broad range of light trucks.”

Kirchmann explains that the goal of cooperation between MFTBC and NMCL is to utilise the expertise of both manufacturers, strengthening business with light-duty trucks in Japan. “Initially, the mutual deliveries prospect will total to about 1 300 units,” says Kirchmann.
