Parrot on your dashboard

SMAC – or Smart Automotive Components; the local high-tech automotive accessory company – has brought the Parrot Minikit Smart Bluetooth hands-free kit to South Africa.

Featuring an integrated smartphone holder that can accommodate a phone up to seven centimetres wide, it weighs a mere 180 grams and can be attached to the windshield or dashboard – facilitating easy access to navigation and cellphone features.

The unit synchronises with the cell phone’s phonebook, which it updates every time you connect, and comes with an intuitive user interface featuring two telephone buttons and a rotary button. The latter is used to guide the user through the menus and phone book. Calls can also be made via speech synthesis. The clear, loud 2-watt speaker combines with an extendable microphone to allow easy conversations.

The unit’s Lithium-ion battery charges in two hours and has a life of up to 10 hours talk time and over a week on standby. The unit retails for R999.
