Tata Madiba – may your soul rest in peace

Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela once said: “There is no passion to be found in playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living.”

And what a life this extraordinary man led. He was definitely one of the most iconic freedom fighters of all time. He united our country and its people during his life and in his death – as we all mourn the loss of the father of our nation.

The FOCUS team extends its deepest sympathies to the friends and family of this wonderful man – who passed away on Thursday, December 5, 2013 at the age of 95.

Mandela said: “What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived, it is what difference we have made to the lives of others that will determine the significance of the life we lead.”

Madiba, we thank you for all that you have done for our country and its wonderful people. Your legacy will surely live on in the hearts and minds of all South Africans, as you have set an example of the ultimate in moral achievements.

May you rest in peace Tata Madiba!
