Vivaro voted as Best Commercial Vehicle

The new Opel Vivaro, which made its world debut at the 2014 Commercial Vehicle Show in Birmingham, England, during April, has scooped its first plaudit … In a survey among 80 000 readers of the Spanish daily financial newspaper The Economist, it has been voted Best Commercial Vehicle in the paper’s Ecomotor awards.

Commenting on the Ecomotor award, Enrico De Lorenzi, sales, marketing and aftersales director of Opel España, says: “The new Vivaro arrives in a very competitive marketplace where, more than ever before, customers  are looking for a light commercial vehicle that offers something extra.”

He continues: “They need a vehicle that is extremely flexible to use and is able to operate as a tool for work as well as a private minivan. The new Vivaro range offers the perfect solution for these requirements. It is an important part of Opel’s new product offensive and will considerably reinforce our position in the light commercial vehicle and fleet segment.”

The various derivatives of the new Vivaro are longer than its predecessors. A choice of two new turbodiesel engines are offered, which develop between 66 kW and 103 kW and deliver a reported 5,7 l/100 km and 149 g/km of CO2.

The new Vivaro will be launched in Europe towards the end of the year and is still under consideration for the South African market.
