A sneak peak at the new Opel Vivaro

Those on the hunt for a new light commercial vehicle (LCV) only have a few more months to wait before the all-new Vauxhall Vivaro is released later this year. For now, however, Vauxhall (locally known as Opel) has been kind enough to give motorists a taste of what to expect.

The mid-sized panel van has been completely redesigned inside and out. “The all-new Vivaro generation promises even more economical and higher-performance engines,” says the vehicle manufacturer.

It adds that the all-new Vivaro generation boasts ultra-modern technologies and equipment that bring typical passenger car amenities and features for frequent drivers into the LCV segment.

Vauxhall claims it has given the new panel van a more modern and precise look. A large, prominent front grille and wing-shaped graphics integrate the signature elements and forms of Vauxhall’s passenger cars.

Although it is unsure if the all-new Vivaro will come to South Africa, Opel currently offers three variants of the Vivaro to our market. The Vivaro 2.0 panel van (available in petrol) and the Vivaro 1.9 cdti panel van (available in diesel), which offer plenty of load area options, with rear doors, a second sliding door and various bulkheads.

The Opel Vivaro cdti bus is more popular for transporting people and, according to Opel, offers car-like driveability and comfort.

Vauxhall plans to release more information about the all-new Vivaro in the near future.
