Aiming hire

Fleet expansion is wonderful as it means your business is growing … but vehicle selection can be a tricky process. For Jetpark-based Alpha Car Hire, however, the decision was a no-brainer – growing its fleet with Geely EC7s, launched in South Africa late last year.

“When we first tried the Geely, we were impressed by the quality feel of this well-priced product,” says Sabashen Moodley, managing director of Alpha Car Hire. “We bought our first Geelys – the Geely MK2 – a few months ago and were very impressed with what we got for what we paid. We received no complaints from any of our rental customers, which showed us that the cars were well-suited for this purpose.”

Moodley adds that the company decided to aim a bit higher with its new acquisition and purchased the EC7s. “This new model offers all the features and comfort of most other vehicles in its class, but at a somewhat lower price – compared to its competitor brands.”

The new Geelys will be used for daily and long-term rentals. “Our biggest intended market is international clients, as we are very close to the OR Tambo International Airport,” explains Moodley.

Geely South Africa’s marketing manager, Gareth Azzie, adds: “Apart from the entry-level MK2, the Geely EC7 is the ideal model for this kind of rental. It is spacious and economical and offers a full complement of luxury features usually found in similar B-segment cars at a much higher price.”
