Driver handbook: there's an app for that

It would seem that there’s an app for most anything these days; from scanning documents with your phone to finding a lift when you’re on the go. Volvo Trucks has joined the revolution as its driver’s handbooks are now available via the web, on smartphones and tablets.

“With our digital driver’s handbooks, the user always has access to complete, up-to-date and specific vehicle information that is even available offline,” says Malin Ersman, project manager at Volvo Trucks.

“The digital manuals feature tools that make it far simpler to find what you are looking for.  Instructive films and images are included to show how the truck’s various functions can be handled in the best possible way.”

Volvo states that the new handbooks can also contribute to increased vehicle uptime. “Since the workshop engineers can immediately see exactly how the truck is configured, it is possible for them to respond more quickly to customer questions about various functions and how they should be handled,” it adds.

The new digital driver’s handbooks are free of charge and available for the Volvo FH, Volvo FH16, Volvo FM and Volvo FMX models – with the exception of trucks built in South America.
