From unicycles to trailers

Trailer and body manufacturer Serco is adding to its talent at its Cape Town facility, by appointing Chris Bosman as general manager.

Bosman brings to Serco skills amassed from a career in the vehicle safety engineering division at Duys Component Manufacturers in Pinetown, KwaZulu-Natal, and 15 years at Toyota … as well as the ability to ride a unicycle!

Bosman says his goal for the next five years is to evolve the Cape Town branch into an integrated component of the Serco Group, growing both market share and profitability, while leading a top-class team to be the best.

“I am delighted to be working at Serco as it is a market leader in truck bodies and trailers. This position is a perfect match for my requirements and experience,” he says.
Serco MD, Clinton Holcroft says: “Chris and his team will strive to ensure our customers continue to receive a professional service from Serco Cape. The company looks forward to having the benefit of Bosman’s experience in world-class manufacturing and lean manufacturing, as well as general operations management.”
