Hyundai introduces industry-best warranty

Hyundai Automotive South Africa has established a new level of confidence in its products by introducing an industry-first, seven-year/200 000 km manufacturer’s warranty.

The new, extended warranty will apply to all new Hyundai passenger cars and light commercial vehicles sold from February 1. These include the nine-seater H-1 Bus, H-1 Multicab, H-1 Panel Van and the popular H100 “bakkie”.

“We are proud to be a leader, once again, in the South African automotive industry with a manufacturer’s warranty that really bears testimony of the trust that we place in our products,” says Stanley Anderson, marketing director of Hyundai Automotive South Africa.

“The quality and reliability of our cars has established excellent resale values over the years. Many thousands of Hyundai customers and drivers can vouch for the peace of mind that our products bring to the consumer.”

Engine items such as the timing chain, cylinder block, head gasket, cylinder head and crank case, to name a few, are covered by the extended warranty. The turbocharger, water pump, flywheel and engine mountings also fall under the warranty.

Several components in the transmission are also covered. These include: the pressure plate and the torque converter in manual and automatic gearboxes, the transfer case, universal joint, prop shaft, axle shafts, constant velocity joints and differentials. Front and rear hub bearings are also on the cover list.
