Moving to a new manufacturer

Volvo Trucks Southern Africa (SA) has announced the resignation of managing director Mark Erasmus with immediate effect. His responsibilities will be taken over by Volvo Group SA president, Torbjörn Christensson.

“Mark has been with Volvo Trucks SA for 16 years during which he served the company with passion,” says Christensson.  “We wish him all the best in his new endeavours.”

Erasmus is moving to Scania South Africa where he will take on the position of regional director for Gauteng, starting on November 4. He succeeds Alec Mack who is taking on a new position with Scania in Iraq.

Steve Wager, MD of Scania Southern Africa, says: “We are convinced that Mark’s extensive knowledge of and experience in the heavy truck industry will be a significant contribution to our growth in South Africa and it is my pleasure to welcome him to the Scania team.”
