Next stop – Atlantis

The MyCiTi bus service, Cape Town’s bust rapid transit system, will start operating in Atlantis on Saturday, April 12, when the first six routes will be launched.

These routes will connect different areas of Atlantis (including Atlantis Industria, Avondale, Protea Park, Saxonsea and Sherwood), with Duynefontein, Melkbosstrand, Table View, Milnerton, Montague Gardens and Century City.

Commuters will also be able to change buses at Table View station to connect with routes around Parklands and Blouberg, to the Civic Centre station in the city, as well as MyCiTi buses that go to Sea Point, Hout Bay, the Gardens area, Salt River and the V&A Waterfront.

Buses will run from as early as 05:00 until as late as 23:40, depending on the route and day of the week, at intervals of either ten or 20 minutes.

Some minibus taxis and Golden Arrow buses, serving the Atlantis area, will be withdrawn from April 12. The affected passengers will need to get a myconnect card loaded with enough money for their trips, as cash isn’t accepted on the MyCiTi buses.
