Professional Movers Association (PMA)

The original objective of the PMA was to give its members a voice in applying for the transport permits required in those days, as well as to promote the sharing among members of return load facilities.

The permit system fell away in 1991 but the PMA continued as an accreditation body, setting professional standards for the removal industry. The PMA now represents a guarantee of superior service, quality and peace of mind to its customers. This is because membership of the PMA is conditional upon prescribed professional standards and a code of ethics.

In addition, members pay for a three-year audit which is undertaken by independent auditors, ensuring that professional standards are continually maintained. PMA membership guarantees fully trained and competent staff at all levels. Removal trucks are specially designed, purpose-built and equipped for the removal of household effects and furniture.

Moved goods will be covered for adequate protection while all of the warehouses used to store clients’ goods are PMA approved, and the packing material is clean and of high quality.
