Standard fleet management in your DAF

Southern African DAF operators will in future benefit from the company’s Executrax on-board fleet management system, which incorporates a full-featured GPS fleet location, tracking and vehicle-performance management system – fitted as standard to all new DAF trucks.

“We’ve taken a long, hard look at the kind of information that local fleet operators need to make informed business decisions. Our response is a total in-house package that is unique in the local market, and is rapidly becoming recognised as the most advanced system of its kind in the industry,” says Mark Gavin, national sales director for DAF’s southern African operations.

Customers have the option to connect the unit to Babcock Transport Solutions’ central management server for a small monthly fee.

The system is linked to the truck’s existing computer and diagnostics systems and communicates wirelessly via a dedicated and secure connection to any internet-enabled device.

The system can be customised to each fleet owner’s requirements by activating only the features that are required.

Standard features include real-time tracking, which communicates vehicle positions in intervals configurable by the user. “Keep In” and “No Go” areas can be added and the operator notified of any violations. Notifications on deviations from pre-defined routes can be communicated through the software, by email or SMS.

The system is also able to monitor and report on vehicle speed, engine speed, fuel usage, engine hours, idle time and driver performance.

At any given time, the user can obtain a high-definition trip history on a map that incorporates detailed telemetry log data to assist with investigative actions and day-to-day management.

“Overall fleet security is increased through 24-hour monitoring and a variety of specialised alerts. All these features combine to help DAF customers focus on their businesses by facilitating increased productivity, reduced stock loss and a lower operating risk,” concludes Gavin.
