Serco expands accessibility options

Vehicle body manufacturer Serco has added the Robinson Shutter, an aluminium side roll-up door, to its range of local dry-freight options.

Unlike barn doors, which require an unobstructed swing clearance to open and close, the roll-up door can be easily accessed from the side offering improved access when loading vehicles.

The shutters bail up above the door aperture, eliminating the need for internal roof-mounted rails that are required by traditional roll-over doors.

Serco says that the slim, aluminium extruded profile makes the Robinson Shutter a lightweight, rattle-free option that is simple to use. It offers customers easy access to the load and is available with a variety of durable locking options.
