Ford is going further
Ford Motor Company South Africa is on an offensive; having launched a comprehensive line-up of passenger and commercial vehicles this year with more yet to come.
The company held its second annual Go Further Africa event this week, where eight exciting new models for African markets were revealed around the theme “Innovation and Mobility”.
The company is expanding its multi-modal approach to urban mobility. One such innovation was the Mode:Pro eBike, a customisable electric bike experiment designed for all types of commercial use. It is aimed at reducing congestion by allowing small businesses and courier companies to deliver goods without negatively impacting on traffic.
Also revealed at the event was a slightly larger commercial vehicle; the new Ranger, which is due to be launched in sub-Saharan Africa in the fourth quarter of 2015.
Ford says that it sets a new benchmark in the pickup truck segment with an uncompromised blend of robust capability, craftsmanship and advanced technology.
The new Ranger will be produced at Ford’s Silverton Assembly Plant in Pretoria and exported to 148 markets.
“Go Further is Ford’s brand promise, and the dazzling array of new products, high-tech innovations and solutions presented at this amazing event are proof of how Ford is, indeed, going further and creating an exciting new world,” says Jeff Nemeth, president and CEO Ford Motor Company: sub-Saharan Africa.
