Sealant manufacturer Sika has introduced SikaFast-5211 NT – a fast-curing, flexibilised, structural adhesive designed to replace mechanical fixings such as rivets, screws or welding.

The product is of primary importance to the automotive industry, says the company, as it is used to bond rear-view mirrors onto windshields after they are replaced. It’s also quick and easy to apply, as it comes with a syringe application device.

SikaFast-5211 NT is a two-part adhesive system based on Sika’s Acrylic Double Performance (ADP) polymer technology. Uncured, SikaFast-5211 NT is a pasty, non-sagging, hardly flammable material, which allows an easy and precise application.

The product has a curing time of only 10 minutes, is of very high strength and resistant to impact, is solvent and acid free (meaning it has low odour) and is resistant to UV light and temperature.

SikaFast-5211 NT is manufactured in accordance with the ISO 9001/14001 quality assurance system and the responsible care programme.
