Amarok to get V6 diesel

Amarok to get V6 diesel

Three-litre displacement, 550 Nm torque and 165 kW power – that’s what fans of the Volkswagen Amarok can expect when the new V6 model lands in showrooms towards the end of the year.

The three-litre TDI engine will, in fact, be available in three states of tune: 120, 150 or the top-performing 165 kW. Maximum torque is produced at only 1 500 r/min.

All engines comply with the Euro-6 emissions standard and fuel consumption of the most powerful model is expected to be 7,6 l/100 km.

Three different drive-system versions will be offered to buyers in the United Kingdom: one with a traditional rear-wheel drive; one with  4MOTION with rear-wheel drive and an engageable front axle in combination with a manual gearbox; and a version with a permanent all-wheel drive system and a Torsen differential with Volkswagen’s eight-speed automatic gearbox.

A payload capacity of more than one tonne is possible, while some variants of the new Amarok will also boast a towing capacity of up to 3,5 t.
